With the 2024 golf season just getting underway in BC's interior, it's time to get a feel for what's happening on, in and around our province's golf facilities in the Okanagain, Kootenays and BC North. Here are our news & notes from the region...
Fernie Golf Course Water Conservation Project
Last August Fernie Golf Club partnered with local businesses in a water conservation program. Upgrading the inner conversion motors of the sprinkler heads allows them to adjust coverage area, water spray patterns and timing.
Together, through the upgrading of their irrigation system, they are reducing water consumption by more than 25%.

BCGA Zone 1 2024 Amateur / Junior Qualifier
Zone 1 will be hosting the qualifier event at the Castlegar GC on June 1st. Send an email to dc123@telus or respond on their Facebook messenger. All players interested in playing should register directly with BC Golf Championship pages. TEE times will begin close to 12:00 noon.

Selkirk College Saints
REGISTRATION IS OPEN for this year's Selkirk Saints Golf Camp July 8-11. The Laurie Palibroda Memorial Bursary is available to participants in financial need to attend the camp. Registration closes June 15.

2024 JUNIOR RAVENS
Starting on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, for four consecutive Sundays, sign your juniors up for the Junior Ravens Golf lessons. They will cover the fundamentals of golf as well as rules and etiquette with Golfing Instructor David Woytowich.
$80 - Price includes all four lessons, and a parent/kid competition on the last day (with snacks!)
1pm: 5-8 years | 2:30pm 8-10 years | 4pm: 11+

Cranbrook Golf Club
Do you have or know a youngster who is interested in golf and wants to learn the fundamentals or refine their existing skills? Look no further than Cranbrook GC's Junior STARS Spring Lesson Program.
The lessons run on Sundays through the month of May and cover basic fundamentals of the full swing, chipping and putting as well as golf course etiquette and most importantly, provide a ton of laughs.
There are three different time slots to choose from, the program is open to individuals aged 6-15, stop by the golf shop or call 250-426-6462 to register.
