Quesnel GC Runs Innovative Sponsorship Program
Golf Carts here are sporting corporate logos that are benefiting the course…
When golfers come to the Quesnel golf course, they may get to drive the Ford Bronco or the SE - Service Electric cart.
The sponsorship opportunity is the brainchild of Director of Golf Operations, Kathy Gook.
“I suppose this came from my time at Bighorn Golf Course in Kamloops, plus my time in Arizona - where cart wraps are the norm,” the LPGA Professional said in an email. “When I moved back here I put together a program for local business and our owners have marketed this…”
They now have eight carts with the wrap and the the number of interested businesses growing.
Continued Gook, “One of our owners had previously owned a junior hockey team, and they had a lot of experience working with local businesses to sponsor the club. They carried over this experience and have really used the marketing to help raise funds that go directly back into the beautification of the golf course. This includes decorative trees/planters/flower beds/maintenance buildings etc. where local businesses can advertise with a sign. When we do the cart wrap, the deal includes green fee passes in which that business uses for staff or customers. This also encourages more people to come out and play! Win Win for everyone!”
